I was on the bus today on the way to Ulpan (hebrew class) when the bus driver did a typical Israeli move. There was a car stopped in the road for an unknown reason, so the bus driver, in an attenuated 60 foot bus, passed him by going into the other lane. Just as the driver was starting to pull back into the correct lane, the car started moving. And, of course, both of them thought they had the right of way. They managed not to hit each other, but as we pulled away, I saw the car following us. At the next bus stop, the driver of the car pulled his car at an angle, so the bus was trapped in the stop, rolled down his window, and started to yell at the bus driver, who rolled down his window and yelled back. I was too far back to hear what was said, but they weren't yelling that loud, and about a minute later, the driver of the car drove off, did a u-turn, and waved as he went by the bus. So obviously, whatever they said had cleared the air.
By now, of course, someone on the bus had started to yell at the driver, who yelled back. So for the next few minutes of the ride, the driver was arguing with one of the passengers. One of the things that has become clear to me here, is that people have no problem letting other's know when they are angry at them. Sometimes this is a good thing, like today with the drivers of the two cars, but most of the time, I'm not so sure.
